Gold Ingot from the ATOCHA Creates Mystery, Provides Logo for Company...
EN RADA Publications, producers and distributors of treasure-related books and PLVS VLTRA Newsletter, has been the source for all of your informational needs since 1983! Since the 1960s we have been diving on, and studying the history of, Spanish shipwrecks in Florida waters & other New World  areas ... and reporting on the coins, bullion, and other artifacts that they have relinquished.

From the time of Columbus' arrival and his loss of the Santa Maria, through the tragedies which befell the Treasure Fleets of 1554, 1622, 1715 and 1733 in particular, there has been much for us to find, research, and study. It was then our self-appointed duty to relay that which we "discovered" to our vast sea of dedicated readers who were "thirsty" for such information.

The silver coins ("pieces-of-eight"), the gold coins ("doubloons"), the large number of silver bars and beautiful ingots of gold being retrieved from the long-forgotten hulks of galleons --now rotted away, leaving their cargoes buried beneath sand and coral-- have been the subjects of many books and articles written by our staff and other contributing authors.

We followed Mel Fisher in his long, and eventually successful, search for Nuestra Senora de Atocha, one of the richest galleons to ever depart a Spanish port in the Americas. Coverage of Burt Webber's, and then Tracy Bowden's, work on the Concepcion and other wrecks in the waters of Hispaniola appeared in our pages. And don't forget the Maravillas on the Bahama Banks, as salvaged by Bob Marx, "Herbo" Humphreys, and others ... we covered it all! Our most extensive insight, however, has been into the salvage of the 1715 Spanish Treasure Fleet which was demolished along the east coast of Florida.

Whether you call the Spanish coins that divers (and beachcombers) find each salvage season "pieces-of-eight" or "cobs" or macuquinas, we have documented their recoveries and explained their strange markings to our faithful subscribers, in detail, through the medium of the written word (and fabulous photos) in books (ours and others') and in our own PLVS VLTRA Newsletter. SOMEONE HAD TO DO IT!

Please browse through our pages and learn the origin ...and the real meaning of... the fantastic gold ingot of the 1622 treasure fleet that was accidentally dubbed the "EN RADA bar!" Read our bulletins, which are frequently updated. And stop in our bookstore before linking to some of the best site pages on the Internet dedicated to hunting, finding, buying, and selling sunken treasure. Mostly, do yourself the favor of subscribing to our newsletter and keep up with the activities of the salvagers, historians, archaeologists, numismatists, conservators, and others who work in this very exciting field of endeavor, the archaeology of sunken galleons.
